TEMPORARY RESIDENT PERMIT (TRP)
Temporary Resident Permit is issued to people, who are inadmissible but whose presence is necessary in Canada or not detrimental to Canada. TRP is issued to overcome an inadmissibility faced by a person (may be due to medical reasons, criminal convictions or other security issues).
This is also referred to as ëMinisterís permití – the application is approved at the highest level. Moreover, the Minister is required to present a report to the parliament on the number of TRPs issued each year. Needless to say, it is an extremely rare visa.
