Canadian Businesses & International Recruiters:
Current and projected Manpower shortage is a challenge all Canadian businesses face, and would love to address in a quick, efficient and cost-effective manner. Owing to a confluence of factors, it is estimated that Canadians are barely be able to replace the retiring workers, and most new positions are filled by foreign workers.
This can be viewed as an opportunity. In an increasingly globalised economy, business survival and growth requires diversified workforce – a team of personnel from varied educational, cultural and experience backgrounds that brings together multiple industry, location and multi- disciplinary learnings in the operations of your company.
At a broader demographic level, Canada’s traditional workforce shortages due to a low birth rate & population are increasingly being accentuated by the looming large-scale retirements of baby-boomers. This is causing unpredictable delays in finding a replacement for such existing positions, even where new positions are not an immediate concern.
The trends are well-known now. These have been identified in various reports and acknowledged by the provincial and federal governments, leading to a few measures in a variety of ways, Foreign Worker programs being a major thrust area.
Increasing International Competition for Manpower
Many western countries are experiencing similar trends, and have initiated similar measures, leading to increasing international competition for manpower. Add to this the booming local economies from source countries (India, China, Philippines, Mexico, Brazil, etc.) and increasingly dynamic Gulf region with well-paying jobs, and it’s easy to understand the emerging scenario.
Trained professionals never had it so good! They have lots of options to work abroad nowadays.
